Birgitte Gisvold Johannessen has submitted the following academic thesis as a part of the doctoral work at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering: «Investigating the use of extensive green roofs for reduction of stormwater runoff in cold and wet climates».

The Faculty has appointed the following Assessment Committee to assess the thesis:

  • Professor Virginia Stovin, University of Sheffield, England (1. Opponent)

  • Researcher Tobias Emilsson, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (2. Opponent)

  • Professor Tore Kvande, NTNU

Professor Tore Kvande, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been appointed Administrator of the Committee.

The Committee recommends that the thesis is worthy of being publicly defended for the PhD degree.

The doctoral work has been carried out at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The trial lecture will take place on 07.05.19 at 10:15 in H1, Gløshaugen on the following prescribed subject: “Integrating Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS) with the combined sewer systems for flood mitigation in dense urban areas”

The public defence of the thesis takes place on 07.05.19 at 13:15 in H1, Gløshaugen.

Associate Professor Tone Merete Muthanna, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been the candidate’s main supervisor. Professor Sveinung Sægrov, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has been the candidate’s co-supervisor.
